Community Outreach & Event Planning
Mission: Star City Pride Events is the non-profit organization that plans and produces Lincoln, Nebraska's official LGBTQIA2S+ Pride events. Star City Pride works toward a future without
discrimination, where all people have equal rights under the law. We achieve by producing
LGBTQIA2S+ Pride events that inspire, educate, commemorate and celebrate our diverse
community.Intern Role: The Community Outreach and Event Planning Intern will support the work of Star City Pride Events by assisting the Community Outreach Coordinator with attending various cultural and community events and planning upcoming LGBTQIA2S+ events.

Linked2Literacy Book Bridge
Linked2Literacy inspires generations by providing inclusive books and literacy education through community-based programs. We promote mental health and wellness, closing the reading gap, and believe important skills are developed through
the ownership of quality books. The Book Bridge program empowers families and caregivers by teaching reading strategies to develop emotional and cognitive skills, foster connection between caregivers and children, cultivate curiosity, and enhance literacy. Our goal is to provide caregivers with resources related to reading strategies, increase literacy through shared reading and develop lifelong readers.The project involves researching and developing the curiosity or sensory pillar of Linked2Literacy’s Book Bridge program, which is a literacy education program for caregivers. The intern will work alongside our program specialist and also be responsible for identifying and applying for a grant to fund the implementation of the program, as well as
reaching out to corporations and organizations to coordinate program presentations in the community. Additionally, the intern will work with the marketing team to develop a social media strategy to promote Book Bridge. -
Strategic Plan Training Intern
This project will consist of working on key components to support our strategic plan, focusing on building our training program. This position will involve working directly with both the Executive Director and the Training and Public Relations Coordinator to develop materials and procedures to promote our training programs that we offer. The focus will be on our new training division/department goals related to our Strategic Plan and will include doing research, phone calls, email inquiries, etc. to bring in new business and set up the foundations for the new division.

Strategic Plan Data Intern
This project will consist of working on key components to support our strategic plan for creating our first statewide needs assessment. This position will involve working directly with our Executive Director and our System Administrator to research and develop the components to put together a statewide needs assessment to include gap analyses on housing by legislative district. This position have a heavy focus on data components and data research.

Nebraska Literacy Project Research Intern
The Nebraska Department of Education has made its goal to raise 3rd-grade English Language Arts proficiency to 75% by 2030. To further this goal, the NDE received a $55 million, 5-year grant focused on literacy from birth through age 21. This research intern will work closely with Department staff and partners to develop turnkey resources for expanded learning providers to implement in their summer and afterschool programs, and continue the development of a “read at home plan” for preschool students. Deliverables for these projects may include implementation guides, videos, student-facing resources, or a combination of all of them. Help us make Nebraska the best place to learn to read!

Research and Evaluation Intern
The Research and Evaluation Intern will work with the Evaluation team and a pilot project, aimed at enhancing our capacity for WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act) Research and Evaluation projects. The project involves participation in a state team that will work closely with partners to build evaluation capacity, conduct evaluations, and complete assessments for evaluation readiness and design. This role is integral to our organization's mission of advancing program outcomes and impact through evidence-based practices.

Website evaluation and inventory management
The intern will collaborate with NDOL’s Public Information Office (PIO) to conduct a comprehensive inventory and assessment of the content on dol.nebraska.gov. Working closely with various agency divisions, they will identify areas of the site that require updates or improvements. In addition to completing text edits and revisions, the intern will research best practices for website content and coordinate with the web development team to implement updates (no web development skills are required). Their work will focus on enhancing content in key areas such as labor laws, employment services and programs, and employer-focused resources. They will also support NDOL's efforts to improve the clarity and accessibility of Unemployment Insurance benefits information on the website. A critical part of their role will be assisting the agency in meeting federal standards for equitable access, ensuring that the website is accessible to individuals from diverse backgrounds and education levels. They will apply plain language principles to tailor content for different target audiences and customer needs, while also suggesting formatting changes to better convey key information. Furthermore, the intern will utilize NDOL’s website evaluation software, which includes tools for analytics, quality control, and document management. They will explore ways for NDOL to maximize the software’s capabilities to improve the quality and effectiveness of the website content.

Marketing and Research Intern
The Office of Labor Market Information (LMI) has a wealth of data, publications, and other materials on its website, but accessing and interpreting the information is not always intuitive. The main objective of this project is to create a marketing plan for informative and promotional content that engages data users and provides answers to frequently asked questions. A focus will be informational videos; other formats could include, but are not limited to infographics, social media, and printed materials. Use of professional software is not required. This individual will have access to Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office and will be responsible for researching and utilizing free and low cost options. The use of AI or other tools to increase efficiency is encouraged. Best practices and suggestions for customizing content to specific audiences including K12 students, teachers, business representatives, media, government officials, and others should be researched and documented. The ultimate goal is to increase awareness of the highlighted content such as navigating the agency website, accessing specific content, using available data, etc.

Process Street Automated Workflows
McGill Law is a female focused firm specializing in assisting
women through the divorce process utilizing the best methods possible. We offer
collaborative divorce, collaborative mediation, litigation and uncontested options. McGill Law is seeking to create automated workflows not only to increase our productivity but also to ensure that each client gets the highest level of service regardless of what other factors are at play. Each legal matter follows a unique path towards final resolution. However, the general
phases and steps for each path are very similar. It is our hope that creating
automated workflows will assist McGill Law lawyers in guiding our clients through
their process in a more transparent and thorough manner. Building automation into existing policies and procedures using Process Street and integration with other web-based programs. Process Street is a no code process platform that allows users to create, track, automate, and complete tasks to streamline processes and improve efficiency. -
Communications and Event Coordinator Intern
Ignite Lincoln is an annual event dedicated to empowering individuals and fostering community connections through the art of public speaking. Our mission is to build confidence and inspire participants by equipping them with the skills to effectively present their ideas and stories. The event is designed to make public speaking accessible to everyone, providing a platform for diverse voices and experiences. As an intern for this project, you will play a crucial role in organizing and executing the event. Your responsibilities will include coordinating logistical aspects, leveraging social media and marketing tools to promote the event, and ensuring a seamless experience for both speakers and attendees. Additionally, you will provide coaching and support to speakers, helping them refine their delivery and enhance their ability to engage and impact their audience. Your efforts will contribute to creating a memorable and successful event that amplifies the power of public speaking and strengthens community bonds.
