As an AmeriCorps VISTA member, you'll play a crucial role in serving and supporting small nonprofits involved in anti-poverty initiatives. Through a train-the-trainer model, you'll enhance their capacity by developing comprehensive timelines, toolboxes, and strategies that drive sustained growth and improvement. The ideal candidate will have at least some experience with, and strong interest in, marketing & communications and outreach services. A strong sense of compassion and a basic understanding (or a willingness to learn) about issues related to anti-poverty initiatives will be beneficial.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop a marketing and outreach toolkit to help build capacity within small nonprofits
- Facilitate an online presence for small Foundry Community nonprofits
- Provide outreach services to small Foundry Community nonprofits
- Facilitate evaluation processes for Foundry Community nonprofit outreach services and marketing efforts to ensure effectiveness and learning for improved future outcomes
Preferred Qualifications
- Desire to learn about, and serve, small nonprofits as a resource, consultant, and member of their project team when applicable.
- Ability and desire to independently serve on projects and serve on and with a small, close-knit team at the Foundry Community.
- Committed to learning and growth. Committed to the Foundry mission of “supporting, educating, and developing purpose-driven organizations”
- Computer Skills
- Marketing, communications, and outreach service experience would be beneficial, though not essential

Primary Responsibilities
- Serve as a facilitator in brainstorming and enhancing grant proposals for small nonprofits, ensuring alignment with grant application criteria and organizational goals.
- Convene and develop data collection tools, such as surveys, focus group resources, and other research instruments.
- Analyze the collected data to identify best practices and provide actionable insights for the nonprofits being served.
- Enhance the impact of small Foundry Community nonprofits by providing data analysis services, including grouping and identifying data patterns, and connecting data points to their organizational value proposition and goals.
