Arbor Day Foundation
The Arbor Day Foundation is the world’s largest nonprofit dedicated to planting trees. The Arbor Day Foundation works closely with a variety of organizations, including corporations, to support Urban Forestry and Reforestation efforts around the world. Our corporate partners include organizations like Microsoft, Amazon, Salesforce, Target, and more than 250 other corporations. The Arbor Day Foundation is seeking support in growing our network of corporate partners and helping identify mission-aligned businesses to support our mission of planting trees. An intern will complete several responsibilities related to our mission, such as researching businesses that have environmental and sustainability programs and supporting outreach to businesses in an effort to explore potential programmatic alignment.

40 Years of Leadership Lincoln
The internship will begin by reviewing the first 10-20 years of Leadership Lincoln Fellows alumni records to identify 5-10 individuals who have since become prominent leaders in Lincoln. In addition, the intern will examine the alumni database for the first 10-15 classes to find additional alumni who have gone on to make significant contributions to the community.The intern will collaborate with Brendan to prioritize these individuals, reach out to schedule interviews, and work with the staff to draft a set of interview questions. They will also locate the original paper file folders containing the application materials for the selected leaders, scanning these materials and any related photographs. Finally, the intern will use the interview insights and application materials to create a feature (media format to be determined) that showcases what these leaders have learned about leadership since their participation in Leadership Lincoln.
Intern Role: The Community Outreach and Event Planning Intern will support the work of Star City Pride Events by assisting the Community Outreach Coordinator with attending various cultural and community events and planning upcoming LGBTQIA2S+ events.

Marketing Lincoln Parks Foundation in the 21st Century
Now entering its 33rd year, Lincoln Parks Foundation is the non-profit partner of Lincoln Parks and Recreation, raising and managing funds for parks projects not covered by city funds. In the past two years, the Foundation has launched a new Salesforce database/donor management system and a completely redesigned web page so we’re now positioned to better promote our work and manage related data. This project will involve creation and implementation of a comprehensive social media strategy and collaboration with LPF staff on messaging and content across all platforms and publications.

Arts Advocacy
Nebraskans for the Arts is a nonprofit advocacy organization supporting the arts and arts education across the state. The primary work for the spring intern would be to work with the executive director in planning and running the spring advocacy workshop held in February, monitor bills during the 2025 session of the state legislature, and promote the NebraskARTS award winners and Creative Districts through social media and publications. There is flexibility in adapting responsibilities based on the interests of the selected intern on whether they are primarily interested in the legislative/advocacy process, non-profit strategic arts management, and/or event planning and marketing

Event Planning and Coordination
Assist in organizing and executing events, including fundraisers, volunteer recognition events, and educational programs. Tasks may include coordinating logistics, managing registrations, preparing event materials, and setting up and breaking down event spaces.
Fundraising Support: Support development efforts by helping with donor outreach,
managing donor databases, and assisting with fundraising campaigns. This might involve
writing thank-you notes, preparing donor recognition materials, and helping with grant
research.Marketing and Communications: Contribute to the creation of marketing materials,
including social media posts, newsletters, and event promotional content. Help maintain
the organization’s online presence and engage with the community through various
channels. -
Website Re-Design + Development
Work with the team of The One Thread Project to create an engaging and streamlined re-design of their existing website. You will research other nonprofit organizations; web presence in the same arena, collaborate and interview key players of One Thread to learn all about its work and mission and develop a plan and timeline to carry out a re-launch for the website at the end of this internship.

KZUM
For almost 47 years, Sunrise Communications has operated KZUM, a community listener- supported, nonprofit radio station in Lincoln. Powered by over 100 volunteers from widely varied backgrounds who range in age from 20 to 85, KZUM is the most diverse and community-minded media outlet in Lincoln. Through outreach efforts and community collaborations, we curate distinctive locally- produced programming that resonates with Lincoln’s population and strive to make our airwaves accessible to all. As our Non- Profit Marketing/ Social Media Intern, you will be a part of building consistent social media strategy for the station, creating marketing items for newsletters, Canva branding, fundraising letters, and more! The intention will be to set infrastructure so that these templates and procedures can be used in the future.

Changemakers 2025 and Revisioning Events for the Future
The intern will work with a dynamic and dedicated Development team on planning, prospecting, and outreach for the Nebraska Children and Families’ Foundation’s annual fundraising event, Changemakers. This includes developing the creative/branding/social media campaign in conjunction with the Marketing and Communications team, content writing, research and communication with potential sponsors, and more. Additionally, as the team works to reimagine its plans for Give to Lincoln Day in May 2025 and other events, the intern will be a key part of analyzing options, determining which paths will optimize goals, help set the strategies and metrics for measuring impact, and execute those plans.

Global engagement through citizen diplomatic programming and outreach
Global Ties Nebraska seeks a motivated Honors student intern to support our efforts in citizen diplomacy, cultural programming, and organizational rebranding. The intern will assist with writing proposals for the U.S. Department of State-sponsored international visitor
programs, help develop cultural programs in Lincoln to foster cross-cultural
understanding, and assist in welcoming international leaders to Lincoln on short-term
professional visits. Additionally, the intern will play a key role in our rebranding efforts by
helping to create and implement social media strategies that will communicate our
name change from the Lincoln Council for International Visitors to Global Ties
Nebraska. This internship offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in
nonprofit activities, proposal writing, U.S. Department of State sponsored international
initiatives, and strategic communications while contributing to meaningful citizen
diplomacy initiatives in the Lincoln community. The intern will also produce a portfolio of
written proposals, digital content, and event planning frameworks, gaining valuable skills
and professional insights that they will be able to employ in their future endeavors. -
LAUNCH
Launch Leadership, a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit for the past 11 years, is experiencing significant growth, with summer program attendance increasing by 305% over the last five years. To sustain this expansion, the organization must enhance its operating capacity, with a key focus on fundraising and development. As a Fundraising and Development Intern, you will collaborate with the Communications Director and Registration & Data Manager to achieve fundraising goals set by the Executive Director. Key responsibilities include creating a Corporate Sponsorship Opportunity booklet, conducting market research, and applying for grants by researching funding opportunities and writing full applications.

Digital Storytelling Series - Showcasing Community Impact
Lincoln City Libraries is dedicated to fostering literacy, building community, and promoting lifelong learning. Through this Digital Storytelling Series, the intern will highlight impactful community stories, programs and events, bringing the library’s
mission to life in a multimedia format. This project offers a unique opportunity to
showcase skills in video production while helping the library create lasting content that
connects with a broader audience. The work will not only reflect the values of our
libraries but will also engage and inspire the community long after the internship.
This work will directly support the library’s strategic mission of literacy, community
engagement, and lifelong learning. With the potential for long-term impact, this
content will remain a valuable asset in showcasing the library’s services for years to

Business Insights, Analysis, and Strategic Planning
We seek a dynamic and motivated Intern. Firespring believes in using business as a force for good, and we actively support our mission by empowering nonprofits and businesses to prosper. As part of our commitment to doing more good, this internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in defining, developing, and recommending market insights, business intelligence dashboards, data analysis, and strategic planning, all while contributing to meaningful projects that will move the company forward. We are currently looking for someone to work with a Product Manager on the Strategy Team to oversee one of the following projects:
1. Market Research and Business Strategy: Dive deep into emerging target audiences and help develop a strategic planning process featuring the Jobs To Be Done (JTBD) framework. You will help define a business innovation methodology that integrates cutting-edge tools like ChatGPT and automated workflows to streamline market research, develop qualitative data sets, and enhance strategic recommendations for potential new business opportunities.
2. Business Intelligence and Data Analysis: Define and implement a project plan to leverage the ongoing development of a Business Intelligence (BI) platform designed to aggregate and visualize disparate business data for strategic decision-making across all departments. The plan may include interviewing key stakeholders, identifying valuable data within multiple systems, developing BI dashboards, and analyzing data to transform information into insights for company Stakeholders.

Engaging K-12 schools with Humanities Nebraska programs and resources
The intern will work with the Humanities Nebraska (HN) staff team to enhance outreach and resources serving K-12 schools throughout Nebraska. This will include interviewing teachers that HN currently works with, surveying Nebraska teachers more broadly, assessing how HN’s current programs and the humanities more broadly fit into state curriculum guidelines, developing communication strategies for K-12 outreach, and assisting with one current core HN program for high school students, Capitol Forum on America’s Future. This project will include a combination of qualitative research and data collection and analysis, and will involve working both with HN staff and independently. This project provides a great opportunity to develop a range of skills that will be valuable in a variety of professional career paths, and to experience the work of a highly regarded, effective statewide nonprofit organization that helps all Nebraskans explore what connects us and makes us human.

The Stories of Restorative Change in Our Community
he intern will Work with the supervisor to develop a community awareness and social media campaign to transform the face of crime/harm in our community. They will connect individuals and communities with the humanity of harm, victimization, and those who have committed the harm while displaying their efforts and commitment to change and repair harm. The intern will be asked to complete a Nebraska Department Correctional Services Background Check, attend a 2-hour volunteer training hosted by NDCS, and be given the opportunity to attend programming within NDCS facilities and in the community.

Nebraska Competes Project Management; outreach and business organizing
Nebraska Competes is a non-partisan coalition of businesses committed to achieving nondiscrimination policies at the community and state levels in order to attract the best talent, to increase business-to-business & business-to-consumer relationships, and to grow Nebraska’s economy. It is a project of OutNebraska - a state-wide LGBTQ+ advocacy and education organization working to celebrate and empower LGBTQ+ lives in Nebraska communities. The Nebraska Competes Intern will support the work of Nebraska Competes in recruiting coalition members and communicating with coalition members and the community at large and in organizing the project. Some responsibilities include: coalition activation, business outreach, marketing/social media, and admin support.

Social Media, Marketing, and Event Internship
Capital Humane Society advocates for the pets in our community, both in and out of the shelter. We believe connection, companionship, and love are critical to a happy and healthy society. Pets bring all three to their owners and families. As the pet needs in our community continue to grow, our need for timely, accurate, and captivating marketing grows. Lincoln is home to 500+ nonprofits, and we at Capital Humane Society are proud to carry a trusted and impeccable reputation. Capital Humane Society has evolved into a civic resource, offering not only care and shelter to homeless pets, but affordable preventative veterinary care for community pets at Stransky Veterinary Center and the Pet Food and Supply Pantry for owners in need of assistance. An intern will:
1. Generate and plan daily social media content, this includes copy writing, photography,
and basic video editing.
2. Research national animal welfare statistics and current trends to educate the public.
3. Create marketing material for digital and print production.
4. Support event planning and execution. -
Nebraska Strategic Housing Council (SHC) Data Dashboard
This internship opportunity will work with the Nebraska Strategic Housing Council and NIFA to capture progress on the strategic housing objective of producing 35,000 housing units in the state. NIFA currently hosts a data dashboard that is measuring this objective and recognizes that there is more impactful data to collect, including capturing housing units at different income levels. The council and its efforts encompass comprehensive
partnerships with a wide variety of housing and economic development experts. The intern will participate in scaling up the dashboard and increasing effective data collection and reporting in the following areas.1. Legislative advocacy Housing for persons with special needs who have extremely low incomes
2. Community based technical assistance with an emphasis on construction trades and workforce

Creating a Benefit Corporation Directory
The Do More Good ® Movement is dedicated to fostering an ecosystem of businesses and leaders who share a common commitment to making a positive impact on the world. In line with this mission, we are embarking on the creation of the first national Benefit Corporation directory. This project holds great significance for our organization as it represents a critical step in amplifying the visibility and influence of Benefit Corporations, aligning with our core mission to promote businesses that prioritize social and environmental responsibility.
