Bringing Communities Together: CJC's Restorative Justice Circles at The Foundry

At the heart of meaningful change is conversation, and the Community Justice Center (CJC) is creating exactly that right here at The Foundry Community. This May, CJC hosted its Circles for Change series, a powerful collection of Restorative Justice Circles designed to bring community members and people who have been incarcerated together for honest, human dialogue.

A Space Built for Connection

The Foundry has never been just a building. It's a gathering place for organizations and individuals committed to making a difference. By hosting CJC's Restorative Justice Circles, The Foundry is doing what it does best, creating a safe, collaborative space so important work can happen. This kind of community infrastructure matters. When mission-driven organizations have a welcoming, accessible home for their programs, the impact simply reaches further.

What Are Restorative Justice Circles?

Restorative Justice Circles are intentionally designed safe spaces where people can share, listen, and learn alongside one another. Each session in the Circles for Change series explores a distinct theme, weaving together voices from across the community, including those with lived experience inside the justice system. The result is something unique, a room where diverse perspectives are brought into genuine dialogue.

Why This Work Matters

CJC's mission centers on engaging people in the kinds of conversations that our communities too often avoid, conversations about justice, healing, and what it truly means to belong. Creating community and cultivating belonging is one of the Foundry’s main objectives as both a physical space and coworking environment, and partnerships like this extend community impact by leaps and bounds. Everybody wins. By providing a safe, central, and community-rooted location, The Foundry helps organizations like CJC extend its reach and meet community needs.
